On a worldwide scale, the paper industry’s needs for wood are growing, whether for the purpose producing paper and cardboards or new cellulose-based products. In spite of the buoyant global situation, the French paper industry is encountering difficulties in developing, in particular due to wood supply situation which is less competitive in France than some other countries (e.g., Brazil, Uruguay) on this the highly international market for cellulose pulp and paper.
