Omsorg for mennesker med demens som bor hjemme reiser etiske dilemmaer om hvordan balansere autonomi med sikkerhet og trivsel for den enkelte. Målet med denne studien var å undersøke etiske dilemmaer knyttet til autonomi hos hjemmeboende mennesker med demens. Denne studien konkluderte med at for å kunne bli boende i sine egne hjem, må mennesker med demens akseptere sin avhengighet av andre for å opprettholde autonomi og leve i samsvar med sine identifiserte verdier
