Scientists commonly steal research from students research and ideas from colleagues, according to researchers Clyde Manwell and Ann Baker from the University of Adelaide's Zoology department. They allege that many scientists massage data intentionally or unintentionally, to suit their biases, with faking of results not uncommon. A post-graduate student faked at least some of his results in the correct anticipation that his thesis supervisor would publish the work under his own name.
