A recently issued Department of Agriculture report found that $94 million in income will be lost through lack of effective land management and subsequent land degradation. President of the Land Management Society Harry Whittington said while surface water and soil structure degradation were problems and there was a general acknowledgement of increasing salt encroachment, wind erosion is the single most costly factor in land degradation.
