INTERVENSI LOGOTERAPI UNTUK MEMPERBAIKI DEPRESI DAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA STADIUM LANJUT

ABSTRACT Background: Cancer disease is one of caused death in the word. Breast cancer is in the first hospitalization in Indonesia. Depression is a psychological problem that occur frequently in breast cancer patients. Depression increase mortality rate risk and decreased quality of live in end-stage breast cancer patients, so need a comprehensive management. Logotherapy is one of psychotherapy type whenever the main principle of it is the meaning of life and spiritual development in someone. The medical ministry techniques was choose because end-stage breast cancer patients have somatogenic problem that somatic factor can been not eliminated so this technique is appropriate at them Objective: To determine the benefits of logotherapy to improve depression and quality of life in patients with end-stage breast cancer. Method: This study used qualitative approach in the form of case study, two subject. In this study depression assessment and quality of life with BDI, HRSD dan EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaires before and after logotherapy intervention. Results: Logotherapy useful to improve depression and quality of life of patients with end-stage breast cancer. On the subject first before intervention BDI score of 24, HRSD score of 23 and after the logotherapy intervention BDI score of 6, HRSD score of 6. On the subject II before intervention BDI score of 26, a score of HRSD 24 and after the logotherapy intervention BDI score of 7, HRSD score of 6. The EORTC QLQ-C30 scores of subject first and subject II decrease after logotherapy intervention. Conclusion: Logotherapy intervention can be used to improve depression and quality of life in end-stage breast cancer patients.
