This study aims to determine the difference in effectiveness between the learning approach using subject-based learning approach and thematic integrated in improving the competence of mathematical knowledge and skills in SLB / B YRTRW Surakarta. The research method used was experimental one group pretest - posttest design with study comparative design. The subjects are deaf students in grade IV SLB / B YRTRW school year 2014/2015, amount to 8 students. Data collection techniques is test. The test is used to collecting data of mathematical knowledge and skills competency before and after learning through subject-based learning approach and integrated thematic.
