PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INQUIRY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS X MIPA 6 SMAN 1 WONOGIRI PADA MATERI FLUIDA STATIS

This study is aimed to improve student’s critical thinking skill in the subject matter of the Fluid Physics Static by using Inquiry learning model in the class X Science 6 of SMA Negeri 1 Wonogiri in the academic year of 2014/2015. The research is a Classroom Action Research with a model of Kurt Lewin and collaborative method conducted in two cycles. Each cycle begun with a preparation phase and followed by the implementation phase of the cycle which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 30 students of class X Science 6 of SMA 1 Wonogiri in the academic year of 2014/2015. Data colleting used in the research was observation and written tests. Technique of data analysis used was descriptive statistic. Based on the data analysis and discussion in this study, it could be concluded that the use of Inquiry learning model could improve student’s critical thinking skill. The use of the learning model was by implementing experimental method of discussion and Student’s Worksheet (LKS) given to each group. Student Worksheet (LKS) which contains practical guide lines and discussion sheets. The use of Inquiry instructional model in the class X Science 6 of SMA N 1 Wonogiri was categorized as significance level α = 5% similar with ttest>ttable was 10,880> 1,699. There was an improvement of student’s critical thinking skill. The result of the first cycle brought in the research was that the student’s critical thinking skills in the level of 0,027 and the result of the second cycles as the final result of student’s critical thinking skills was 0,909 with the equation Y = 7.542 + 0,027X1 + 0,909X2.
