MANAJEMEN KONFLIK DALAM PROSES REVITALISASI PASAR DEPOK OLEH DINAS PENGELOLAAN PASAR KOTA SURAKARTA

Recently, the existence of traditional markets can make city icons and increase revenue (PAD) in each region. Therefore, the government of Surakarta City committed to maintaining continuity of traditional markets through regulation of Surakarta City ordinance No. 1 of 2010 on the Management And Protection Of Traditional Markets, one of them with the market revitalization. One of the traditional markets targeted in revitalization program is Depok Market Surakarta. However, in practice there are still many conflicts. This study aims to determine the conflict management in revitalization process of in Depok Market by Dinas Pengelolaan Pasar Surakarta who play role as implementator. The research is descriptive qualitative. This study viewed from indicators of conflict management which consists of five styles that is collaboration, following the wishes of others, dominating, avoiding, and compromising. In the selection of informant used purposive sampling techniques with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and review of written documents. The validity test used triangulation techniques. While the data analysis used interactive analysis model. Results of this study showed that style of collaboration, following the wishes of others, dominating, avoiding, and compromises have been well executed. Collaboration includes of policies formulation relating to environmental hygiene. Follow the wishes of others that are DPP style immediately implement the trader wishes to move to the roadside vendors in the Depok market environment. Dominate are associated with the DPP style when implement the market revitalization related to the shape of the building and placement of merchants. Avoiding related to DPP style in the draw lottery of stalls that traders considered not transparent. Compromising conduct by DPP and institutions associated with the market revitalization process because it has a balanced power. Keywords: traditional markets, conflict management, revitalization
