This article investigates the links between the philosophy of Giovanni Gentile and the concepts of folk science of Giuseppe Pitrè, especially in the period 1913-1918. Indeed, the ideas of tradition and culture formulated by Gentile distance the Sicilian philosopher from a classical vision of anthropology and he achieves an aesthetic and political consideration of cultural facts which also influences his vision around Pitrè's demopsicologia
