Artists / Athletes: Approaches and intersections between sport and the new circus.

This project deals with the artist formation process. The main objectives of this study are: to investigate the training processes of contemporary circus artists from the experience of a circus troupe in the city of Pelotas / RS; analyze the possibilities and perspectives of professionalization of these artists and describe the constitution and functioning of a circus organization. It is intended to discuss some meanings produced by the artist-members about the circus practices performed by this company. This study is based on methods and analyzes that start from a qualitative perspective of interpretation of the phenomenon, using ethnography to support this investigation. The analysis of the artist's training will address both the intensity and continuity of the circus artist's training, as well as the challenges that constitute the entire environment of the circus artist's profession, the professionalization of the artist, his personal and professional life projects and his motivations for persist in the competitive artistic environment.Sem bolsaEste projeto trata sobre o processo de formação de artistas. Os principais objetivos desse estudo são: investigar os processos de formação de artistas de circo contemporâneo a partir da experiência de uma trupe circense da cidade de Pelotas/ RS; analisar as possibilidades e perspectivas de profissionalização desses artistas e descrever a constituição e o funcionamento de uma organização circense. Pretende-se discutir alguns significados produzidos pelos integrantes-artistas acerca das práticas circenses realizadas por essa companhia. Este estudo é pautado em métodos e análises que partem de uma perspectiva qualitativa de interpretação do fenômeno, utilizando a etnografia para amparar essa investigação. A análise da formação do artista irá tratar tanto da intensidade e continuidade do treinamento do artista circense, como também dos desafios que constituem todo o entorno da profissão do artista circense, a profissionalização do artista, seus projetos de vida pessoal e profissional e suas motivações para persistir no concorrido meio artístico
