Mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) have gained much interest in the last two decades to be used as water, waste water, and gas separation membranes. MMMs combine polymer matrix and inorganic filler to improve the performances of pure polymeric membranes. However, the choice of filler should be conducted carefully to avoid the formation of microvoids that can decrease the membrane’s performances.
