This thesis investigates the effective deployment of deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) architectures in two different application areas for security and surveillance purposes, namely person re-identification and aerial, large-scale, object detection and recognition, in which the data capture sources are cameras within CCTV systems and on-board drones, respectively.
