This project has been carried out by the University of Skövde on behalf of CEJN AB. During the project, the possibility to an alternative joining method between two parts of a quick connect coupling has been examined. The goal with the project was to find a method that can handle the loads that a quick coupling can be exposed to, but at the same time achieve a lower production cost than the current method. Three possible concepts were formed. The three concepts implied that the joining should be done by welding, adhesives or press fitting. Calculations have been carried out to evaluate the suitability of these concepts. By the end of the project, none of the three concepts was excluded.
