Los cajones de la memoria: testimonio físico de la construcción del puerto de Arroyo Pareja

International audienceThe planning and construction of ports built by French companies in Argentina is an empirical demonstration of the French "savoir faire" in port issues developed at the end of the 19th century. The arrival of a group of French engineers in our country meant the application of new techniques aimed at adapting the construction needs to the natural characteristics where the new ports were located. in this article, the focus will be on the application of a construction system developed by the engineers of one of the main French companies, Hersent. The caisson method was used to build the Commercial Port of Arroyo Pareja in 1912. Some of them, stranded, are a mark of memory of those works and an identity sign still visible in the port landscape in Arroyo Pareja.La planification et la construction des ports construits par des entreprises françaises en Argentine est une démonstration empirique du "savoir faire" français en matière portuaire développé à la fin du XIXe siècle. L'arrivée d'un groupe d'ingénieurs français dans notre pays a signifié l'application de nouvelles techniques visant à l'adaptation entre les besoins constructifs et les caractéristiques naturelles où les nouveaux ports sont situés. Dans cet article, l'accent sera mis sur l'application d'un système constructif développé par les ingénieurs d'une des principales entreprises françaises, Hersent. La méthode des caissons a été utilisée pour construire le port commercial d'Arroyo Pareja en 1912. Certaines d'entre elles, échouées, sont une marque de mémoire de ces œuvres et un signe d'identité encore visible dans le paysage portuaire d'Arroyo Pareja.
