Due to the corona pandemic (Covid-19) during spring of 2020, the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven announced in a press conference on March 17, 2020, that all upper secondary schools, adult education and colleges are recommended to close and pursue distance education. Because of this, teachers can no longer teach as planned and they’ll have to transfer their lesson plans to fit the distance education format. The purpose of this study is to see how distance education, due to the corona pandemic, is pursued within the music subject and music theory at the upper secondary school and what the consequences and practical conditions will be for students and teachers.
