The fertiliser trials show significant improvements in sweetpotato yields (up to 72%). These yield increases can be obtained with both readily available organic fertilisers (chicken manure or coffee pulp, Aiyura on-station) or mineral fertilisers (TADEP sites). Due to the increased yield potential of pathogen tested (PT) planting material, plant nutrient demand and soil nutrient depletion will be higher compared to non PT sweetpotato.\ua0 To minimise nutrient rundown in improved PT systems,\ua0 application of fertiliser, organic or mineral is therefore becoming increasingly important
