Estilos y normas de citas y referencias bibliográficas vs. normas de catalogación: aportes críticos centrados en el usuario

A comparative-critical study is presented between the guidelines of the styles and norms of citations and bibliographic references and the norms of cataloging. It starts from the conceptualization of citation, bibliographic reference and bibliography to later contrast with the cataloging. It reflects, among others, on the following questions: What do they have in common and how do they differ? How do these rules affect user service? What role do librarians play in defining citation styles and standards? How are library catalogs linked to citation styles and standards? How is bibliographic data presented to the user? How well trained are librarians on citation styles and standards? Finally, the need to strengthen the links between users, editors and librarians arises
