Indian investments in Germany: motives, status-quo and trends

Germany, in recent years, has advanced to a major focal point for Indian multinational enterprises (MNEs). Between 2000 and 2007, 84 greenfield Indian investments in Germany were monitored. Additionally, Indian MNEs were involved in at least 55 mergers & acquisitions (M&A) deals in Germany between 2001 and 2008. Judging by the number of acquisitions in the period 2003-2007, Germany averaged just behind USA and UK as target market for Indian investors, according to one KPMG report.
