Bu çalışmanın amacı inşaat malzemesi olarak kullanılan beton numunelerinin radyasyon zırhlama özelliklerini belirlemektir. Mineral katkılı ve mineral katkısız on iki beton numunesi hazırlandı ve 59,5 ve 661 keV foton enerjilerinde gama ışını kullanarak kütle soğurma katsayıları, etkin atom numaraları ve etkin elektron yoğunlukları yönünden araştırıldı.Hazırlanan beton numunelerinin deneysel gama ışını soğurma katsayıları tablolaştırılmış WinXcom sonuçlarına dayalı hesaplanmış değerler ile karşılaştırıldı. Deneysel ve hesaplanmış değerler arasında uyum gözlendi.
