Studies about leukocytapheresis have emerged with the need of search for alternatives to conventional treatment in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Leukocytapheresis is a novel non-pharmacologic approach for active ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), in which leukocytes are mechanically removed from the circulatory system. Patients with active IBD treated with leukocytapheresis using a Cellsorba E column between 2012 and 2015, were enrolled in Turkey.
