The theory and applications of the classical discrete dynamic vibration absorber are well known. This concept of absorber is extended to distributed or continuous systems. The use of discrete dynamic absorbers for distributed parameter systems has been actively investigated, but the case of a distributed system as an absorber, in its true context of dynamic vibration absorber, for another distributed system is not well understood.
