The viscous flow about a two-dimensional body experiencing non-catastrophic separation is analyzed. The method utilizes a direct interacting boundary layer formulation. The outer flow is calculated using an ideal flow panel method. The inner problem is formulated with velocity/vorticity variables using conventional boundary conditions. The resulting nonlinear equations are solved using an iterative global linearization that results from assuming that the convection velocities in the vorticity equation are known. The FLARE approximation is not used. Streamwise derivatives in convection terms are approximated with upwind differencing. The iteration is started using potential flow results to approximate the convective velocity. Subsequent iter...
