This volume is the second in the series of books dedicated to Virtual Restoration and represents the natural continuation of the previous volume published in 2017: Virtual restoration 1. Paintings and Mosaics. The first volume presented the general topic of virtual restoration as applied to pictorial surfaces and mosaics via 38 case studies that illustrated specific issues: from the survey to the representation of the surfaces, from the mapping of decay to the analysis of colour, from the treatment of the gaps to the virtual reconstruction, as well as the diagnostic analyses of the surfaces.
