Nanomaterials have received increasing attention during the last decades in the solid state field since they play a major role as catalyst and catalyst supports for many applications including fuel cells or gas sensors. The interest is mainly due to their high specific surface area, which leads to an increase of performance and a cost-effective solution for expensive or rare materials.
