The development of the wet-mix system and the use of the sprayed concrete as a part of the new Austrian tunnelling method (NATM) marked an increase in the use and in the structural responsibility of the material, with special importance in underground construction. Nowadays, sprayed concrete is used in many applications with clear structural responsibility and an ever-growing pressure for the use of environmentally materials is observed. To cope with these trends, new cements and accelerators are developed. The use of new materials creates a special type of sprayed concrete.
