As there is no complete list of the Mollusca and Brachiopoda described from, or attributed to, the Table Cape Tertiary deposits, it seems desirable that such a list, as complete as possible, and on an up-to-date classification, should be issued- more particularly for the convenience of local workers; the references given with each species will also be a useful guide to the study of the original descriptions, and also figures where such have appeared. The best list which has been published is that by R. M.
