Many urban spaces during the course of time have lost their intended semantics, identities and representations, and might therefore be defined as post-spaces of various kinds, for example post-industrial, post-Soviet, post-Modernist, etc. In many cases these post-spaces require restructuring not only of their meaning and identity, but also of their functions and urban life. The socialist mass-housing neighbourhoods could be taken as a good example of such case. In this thesis the specific attention is given to urban living environment, mainly focusing on a socialist mass-housing quarter located in Vilnius city centre, and its public space.
