A key technologies and future development of domestic robot vacuum cleaners

[[abstract]]本文探討家用清掃機器人的現況與未來的發展, 從現有商品的分析, 研究清掃機器人開發的關鍵技術, 包括提升覆蓋率與清掃的效率, 以及循邊控制的方法。另一方面提出創新的越障機構, 已克服清掃區域受限於門檻與架高地板的問題, 並探討遠端監控的應用架構, 以利未來結合影像保全功能, 增加清掃機器人產品的功能性與市場創新價值。[[abstract]]This study addresses the status and the future development of domestic robot vacuum cleaners. Starting from an analysis of the current modules in the market, the key technologies including the cleaning strategy and the wall following schemes are studied to improve the cleaning coverage and efficience. At the other front, a multifunction domestic cleaning robot with remote monitoring and striding capacibility is presented. The proposed design can climb a step obstacle and cross over a bump hindrance automatically, and relieves the constraints of the cleaning ranges due to the level differences of floors. The remote control and monitoring techniques are proposed which can be readily applied to security surveillance. The innovation can greatly improve the functionality of a domestic robot and increase the marketing value
