The paper considers the reliability calculation technique based on logical - probabilistic approach for evaluation of the electrical substation switchgear schemes and equipment at emergency mode with disconnections of the substation equipment individual elements or false operation of relay protection and automation (RPA). The results of studying the 330 kV substations of Latvian Electric Power System (EPS) are shown. Recommendations for changing the switchgear schemes of some substations are given
