The Austrian National Library according to its statutory mandate and its self-understanding is not only a service institution for scientific research, but at the same time itself a research institution. This is especially true for special holdings for which bibliographic indexing cannot be strictly separated from scientific research, such as literary estates and historical manuscripts, papyri, etc. The collaborations of the ANL with universities in the field of Papyrology, within the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for the History and Theory of Biography and Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin as well as in the Interuniversity Course „Library and Information Studies (MSc)“ are briefly introduced
