The purpose of this study is to provide a chemical, physical, and mineralogical characterization of Pawnee and Adair soils in Pawnee County, Nebraska, and to interpret this information in terms of the genesis of these soils. Data obtained in this study are of importance in view of the widespread occurrence of Pawnee soil in southeastern Nebraska and the recent correlation of the Adair series in Nebraska.
