Agricultural Economic Problems in China

This thesis discusses land utilization in China, marketing farm products, land utilization policy and land tenure, land tenure and agricultural economic policy and program. A land use policy or an agricultural program for China consists of a number of major steps. It is suggested that these must be undertaken under the present system of individual farm family units and that any attempt at major changes in agricultural economic organization such as collective farming or other large scale farming enterprises should for this present be undertaken only on an experimental basis and on a very limited scale. Realizing the importance of a program broad enough to solve the deep-set problems in the rural situation, and the need of a national system of agricultural organization strong enough to carry out such a program, the national government should make a concentrated effort regarding the agricultural programs adapted.
