Problems Encountered by Nebraska Teachers of Vocational Agriculture in Pursuing Graduate Work

This study was concerned with problems encountered by Nebraska teachers of vocational agriculture in pursuing graduate work.It involved ascertaining teacher perceptions of the kinds, frequency, seriousness and possible solutions of problems encountered.The purposes of this study were: (1) to identify the problems encountered by Nebraska teachers of vocational agriculture in pursuing graduate work; (2) to ascertain the relative seriousness of the problems encountered; (3) to explore ways and means utilized, and perceived as being fruitful, in solving the problems encountered; and (4) to suggest possible changes in the graduate program for vocational agriculture teachers. Most of the information for the study was collected from questionnaires filled out by teachers of vocational agriculture who were teaching in Nebraska during the 1958-1959 school year. Several conclusions and other useful information came out of this study. Twenty-four of the teachers who responded to the questionnaire reported possession of a Master’s degree and twelve of these degrees had been received by the time the recipient was 30 years of age.
