This purpose of this study of seven counties in Nebraska (Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Knox, Polk, Rock, and York) was to learn to what extent boys and girls in these counties, in 1944, entered high school upon the completion of eighth grade.The study was also to learn in what proportions of rural, town, or village these children showed a tendency to remain in secondary school until graduation.
