Is it worthwhile to be an Honor student? This is the main question the investigator of this thesis wished to examine. For the purposes of this study, the Phi Beta Kappa lists from the University of Nebraska for the years 1929, 1930 and 1931 were secured, as well as the lists of the Engineers elected to Sigma Tau during the same period, and of the Cum Laude students from the Law College for the years 1926 to 1930. Based on the information collected in this study the investigator argues that the Honor student not only receives a higher scholastic average than his Non-Honor classmate, but usually engages in a greater number of extra-curricular activities than the Non-Honor individual
