This paper focuses on nineteenth and early twentieth century textiles produced by the Kathi people of Saurashtra in northwest India, and motifs similar to the Kathi\u27s repertoire. The purpose is to stimulate new thinking about archaic embroidered images and how they relate to the larger world of ancient solar/astral worship and the regenerative principles of nature.
