This chapter considers the neural basis of visual decisions and simple binary decisions made upon the sequential analysis of evidence, and also explains the accuracy and speed of perceptual decisions as a function of difficulty. It also presents evidence of possible neural implementation of the computational principles in the parietal cortex of a monkey
