During October to January the weather becomes unfavourable for fishing in the traditional fishing grounds along the South West coast due to NorthEast wind. It was also found that usage of hooks and lines at the Calicut has returned good yield during this period. Thus the present study indicates the scope for diversification of craft and gear in the area during this season
