Dementia - one of the world's fastest growing disease. Alzheimer’s dementia is a primary cognitive impairment disorder characterized by progressive deterioration of cognitive functioning, with the end result that the person may not recognize once familiar people, places and things. The ability to walk and talk is absent in the final stage. A study was done to assess the knowledge, and attitude regarding Alzheimer’s dementia among adults in Nanchiyampalayam at Dharapuram with a view of conducting an awareness programme on prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia.
