INTRODUCTION: Adolescence is the transition period from childhood to adulthood and it is characterized by a spurt in physical, endocrinal, emotional and mental growth. One of the major physiological changes that take place in the adolescent girls is the onset of menarche. It is often associated with the problems of irregular menstruation, excessive bleeding and dysmenorrhoea. Of that dysmenorrhoea is one of the common problems faced by adolescent girls. Dysmenorrhoea is a menstrual disorder characterized by painful cramps in the lower abdomen. It affects about 20% to 90% of adolescent girls in some way.
