Effectiveness of Nursing Care on Mothers who Underwent Instrumental Delivery

The present study was conducted to elicit the effectiveness of nursing care on mothers who underwent instrumental delivery. The evaluative research design was adapted. A total number of 30 mothers who met the inclusion criteria were selected from postnatal ward of obstetric and gynaecology department in Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research by using convenient sampling techniques and individualised care were provided. The investigator introduced herself to the patients and developed professional therapeutic relationship with them. Then demographic data about mothers were collected with the help of questionnaire and a check list was used to assess the health status. Score was given accordingly. At the time of initial assessment, out of thirty mothers 23 were in poor health status and Seven were in fair health status, after that individualized nursing care was given as per nursing protocol daily and at the day of discharge the mothers health status were evaluated with the help of check list. Out of 30 mothers 26 were in good health status, Four were in fair health status. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
