Modern Agora

The graduation project Modern Agora is about the design for a new city administration in Brussels. The design is critiquing and responding to the already in construction BruCity project, which centralizes all the 10 departments with 1700 city employees. Brussels is the capital of Belgium and at the same time that of the European Union, which makes the city socially and politically a complex metropolis. The city is the second most diverse city in the world with a population of 186 different nationalities. The manifesto for the new city hall is about putting wellbeing on the top of the agenda for the citizen, but also for itself, for it’s employees, helping to create a healthier city. The concept of food and urban farming is used to cultivate literally and figuratively common ground.Architecture, Urbanism and Building Science
