Perilaku Pengungkapan Diri di Media Sosial Instagram Ditinjau dari Perspektif Nilai Budaya Siri’ (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Pada Mahasiswa Suku Bugis di Kota Malang)

ABSTRRACT The user of social media instagram increase continuously every year. Since it launched on October 6, 2010 Instagram even continue to modify to follow other social media developments. Till now, Instagram has provide various interesting and up-to-date features so that it can attract more users, especially student who are always interested in new trendy things. Under these various interesting features it allows the student to provide information about themselves in social media instagram. In fact, some of them are also able to express themselves, in the personal problems or daily activities on, regardless of whether the expression is positive or negative. Start from this phenomenon so that the researchers are interested in conducting research related to self-disclosure behavior carried out by students in social media instagram who see the perspective of cultural values, namely Siri Cultural Values' as ancestral values of the Buginese people (South Sulawesi) to control these self-disclosure behaviors This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The data source uses primary data from interviews and secondary data sources from certain literature. The data will be analyzed using descriptive analysis method and using the Johari Window model as a theoretical basis in self-disclosure. Based on the data analysis result that has been done, it is concluded that the Buginese students who apply the siri’ value as a control in self-disclosure on social media instagram tend to behave positively. This is because they can understand themselves so that they are able to determine which one can and should not be disclosed in social media instagram
