PENGARUH PEKERJAAN TERHADAP KASUS PTERYGIUM DI KOTA MALANG TAHUN 2020

Background: Pterygium prevalence has various number from 1.2% to 23.4% in the world. The highest pterygium prevalence ever recorded in Indonesia is 3.2% in bilateral eyes and 1.9% in unilateral eye and outdoor occupation factors become risk factor with the highest percentage of pterygium population in Sulawesi, Indonesia (73.52%). Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of occupational risk factors on pterygium in Malang. Method: This study used a cross sectional model by involving 76 respondents. Questionnaire was used as instrument and the statistical analysis method used in this research was univariate analysis, bivariate chi-square, and multivariate multiple logistic regression. Results: Outdoor occupation, duration of sun exposure, working period, and uses of UV glasses showed significant effect (p 5 hours / day, OR = 4.855 in people with working period > 5 years, and OR = 4.368 in people who did not wear UV glasses during worktime, and the OR = 1.207 in people had outdoor work professions.
