PENGARUH PEMBERIAN LATIHAN HIIT SELAMA SATU MINGGU TERHADAP PERUBAHAN RESPON NILAI DENYUT NADI ISTIRAHAT PADA REMAJA PEROKOK

Background of Study : Cigarettes are processed tobacco product that can affect cardiovascular disorders. Smoking can increase all risks of heart disease, stroke, peripheral arterial disease and blood vessel swelling. WHO (World Health Organization) concluded that, 25% of cardiovascular deaths in middle age are caused by smoking (European Society of Cardiology, 2013). This study aims to determine the effect of high interval intensity training (HIIT) on the resting pulse in adolescent smokers. The resting pulse data was measured using a three-finger palpation test, that are the third, fourth, and fifth fingers of the radial artery. Research Method : This study uses the type of pre-experimental research using “One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design Without Control Group” about the effect of resting pulse rate. The sample totaling 38 people were taken by purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using Paired T-test at the significance level (α) of 0.05 in the SPSS 25.0 program. Result : The analysis result showed a decrease in the mean value on the variable of the resting pulse rate. In the pre-test got the mean value of 74 beats per minute, in the post-test got the mean value of 73 beats per minute.
