PENGARUH TIMBAL (Pb) TERHADAP PERILAKU LALAT BUAH (Drosophila melanogaster) SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR BIOLOGI

Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal which has toxic that can contaminate the environment. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of Pb on changes in climbing behavior of Drosophila melanogaster. The study of Drosophila's behavior can facilitate on investigation related to influence of heavy metal the nerves system and their implications for human health. The strain used in this research is the strain wild-type and there are four Pb levels given, which were 0, 1000, 1500, and 2000 ppm. The data collected were consists of pupae position, pupa orientation, the success of climbing imago, and length of time of imago climbing. The data collection was carried out in generation 0 and generation 1 and the data analysis used percentages (pupation) and one-way ANCOVA (climbing ability) followed by the LSD Test. The results showed that there was a significant influence of Pb concentration in Drosophila's climbing behavior, both on the success of climbing imago [F (3.95) = 34,132, p = 0,000] and the length of time the imago climbs [F (3.95) = 26,604, p = 0,000]. The results of LSD test also showed a significant difference from Drosophila's climbing behavior which was shown in a different notation. In the analysis of pupation behavior showed that there was no significant effect of Pb concentration on Drosophila puppet behavior were good at the upright position [F (3,95) = 2,296, p = 0,827], tilted [F (3,95) = 2,296, p = 0,360], and flat [F (3.95) = 2,296, p = 0.110]. However, another analysis of pupation behavior showed that there was influence of Pb on the orientation of the height which was indicated by the percentage value, which stated the higher of Pb concentration, the percentage of pupa distribution tends to be higher in the lower zone. The results of this research are said to be feasible as a source of learning biology class X KD 3.3 material structure and function of genes, DNA, chromosomes in the nature of living things based on the assessment of research requirements as a source of learning biology
