PERAN PEKERJA SOSIAL DALAM PROSES REHABILITASI SOSIAL PENYANDANG DISABILITAS MENTAL (Studi di Balai Rehabilitasi Sosial Penyandang Disabilitas Mental Budi Luhur Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan)

This research is about the role of social workers working in the social rehabilitation of people with mental disabilities at the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities Budi Luhur Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. The purpose of this research to know; 1) The Social Rehabilitation Process for People with Mental Disabilities at the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities Budi Luhur Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. 2) The Role of Social Workers in the Social Rehabilitation Process for Persons with Mental Disabilities at the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities Budi Luhur Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. This type of research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods, with the subject determined purposively namely social workers at the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities Budi Luhur Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation, and data analysis techniques used are data condensation, presenting data, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this research indicates that in the implementation of social rehabilitation at the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities Budi Luhur Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan consisted of several stages of the process consisting of acceptance, orientation, assessment, intervention plans, intervention implementation, resocialization, distribution, and after care as well the role carried out by Social Workers in the process of social rehabilitation including companion, motivators, enablers, group facilitators, brokers, and educators. from three subjects who have the same educational background and in accordance with the profession Social workers have their own expertise and ways in practice, varying in handling and treating Beneficiaries. However, one goal remains to improve the social functioning of the Beneficiaries through various processes and programs of activities provided to the beneficiaries
