IMPLEMENTASI ETNOMATEMATIKA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL PADA MATERI BANGUN DATAR KELAS IV SDN PUNTEN 01 KOTA BATU

SDN Punten 01 Kota Batu is one of the elementary schools that has begun developing ethnomatematics in learning mathematics that is still rarely conducted. This study aims to describe the implementation of ethnomatematics through traditional games on grade IV for understanding two-dimentional geometry figures and to describe the mathematical elements that appear in traditional games. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The main research data were chosen and focused on 25 students of class IV-A SDN 01 Punten Kota Batu in the school year 2019/2020. The observation was conducted in November 2019. This research implements several techniques such as observation, interview, and documentation. Moreover, several stages of research are data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study show (1) in mathematics learning, the learning material of two-dimentional geometry figures has applied ethnomatematics with traditional games as the media. (2) The traditional game that is implemented is a game that is often done by children in Batu, namely engklek and gobak sodor. (3) Mathematical elements identified in the game of engklek and gobak sodor are squares and rectangulars, which also contain building elements such as sides, angles, diagonals, and symmetries
