HAMBATAN KOMUNIKASI ORGANISASI (STUDI PADA KARYAWAN BIRO KEMAHASISWAAN UMM)

Communication within an organization is very much needed when there is a situation thet leads to conflict, then in the solution, there will be mutual coordination with members in the organization. This study aims to determine the barriers to organizational communition in the vertical and horizontal dimensions. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were the head of the bureau, the head of the division, and all the staff in the UMM Student Affairs Bureau. So, the sampling technique is a total sampling. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. This study uses analytical techniques from the theory of Miles, Huberman, Saldana (2014). To analyze the results of the study, researchers used the concept of communication barriers from Handoko in his book entitled Management edition 2: barriers consisting of organizational barriers and interpersonal barriers. The results of this study: employees feel they do not understand and do not understand the tasks to be done and what is delivered (misinterpretation) because some employees listen to messages only from the surface, differences in understanding between employees in discussion activities, feeling reluctant to superiors, excessive thinking thus affecting communication, the state of self-defense creates gaps between employees, inaccurate use of language results in the message conveyed is not well understood
