PERAN KELUARGA DALAM MERAWAT DAN MEMENUHI ACTIVITY DAILY LIVING PADA PASIEN STROKE DENGAN PARALILISIS DALAM MENCEGAH DECUBITUS

Background: Stroke is a disruption of blood supply to the brain, stroke is the second leading cause of death and disability after heart disease, around 40.5 million people with stroke or around 36% -45%, 28.5% of the population experience complications of hemiplegia. The occurrence of dukubitus in patients with hemiplagia approached 65% of the total patients with stoke. Family involvement is the main key to avoid pressure sores, but the main function in caring for sick families is not maximized. Objective: To determine the role of the family in caring for and fulfilling the activities of daily living in stroke patients with paralysis in preventing pressure sores. Method: Qualitative approach (case study research) Subjects used in this study are families who care for patients on a daily basis. Retrieval of data using semi-structured interviews and using data triangulation. Results: The researchers concluded that right and left tilting, keeping the skin dry and exercising muscle strength and meeting daily needs could accelerate the healing process of stroke with complications from hemiplegia and avoiding pressure sores.
